Apricot Smoothies, for a subtle, late summer treat.
One of my favorite fruits is the Apricot, mainly because of its subtle flavors. Fresh Apricots have a very short season but dried and preserved (tinned/canned?) are always available.
Apricot Smoothies and Health:
A medium-sized Apricot contains Calories 70, Protein 0.49 grams of, Fiber and 0.7 grams of.
Major Vitamins: A, Niacin, B1, B6, C, E, K
Major Minerals: Potassium, Phosphorus, Calcium, Magnesium, and Iron.
These recipes include both canned and fresh varieties, combined with Yoghurt and other fruits such as Banana, Nectarine, and Orange.
One of the tricks, of course, is not to overwhelm the subtle taste of the Apricot itself with other additives.
Try these when the Apricots are fresh…I just love them!
1. Apricot Mango Smoothie
- 6 oz. light (reduced sugar) fat-free Apricot-Mango yogurt
- (This is one container of Yoplait)
- 1 cup. Crystal Light lemonade
- 1/2 Banana
- 5-6 canned Apricot halves.
Put all ingredients into a blender. Blend well until smoothie consistency is reached!
2. Apricot Nectarine Smoothie
- 1/2 Nectarine
- 1 Apricot
- 6 oz. light (reduced sugar) fat-free Peach Yogurt, frozen (This is one container of Yoplait)
- 4 oz. Crystal Light or other sugar-free Lemonade.
Put all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smoothie consistency is reached!
3. Apricot Smoothie
- 1/4 cup Orange juice
- 1/2 cup plain, low-fat Yogurt
- 1/2 cup peeled, pitted, and chopped fresh Apricots
- Honey to taste.
Place all the ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth. Enjoy!
4. Peach Apricot Smoothie
- 2 peaches
- 100 ml unsweetened almond milk
- 3 apricots
- 1 banana
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend them.
5. Strawberry Apricot Smoothies
- 2 Apricots, halved and pitted
- 1 Cup Strawberries
- 1 Bananas
- ¼ Cup Greek Yogurt
- ¼ Cup Orange Juice
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend them.
6. Spinach Apricot Coconut Oil Smoothies
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 apricot
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1/2 tablespoons coconut oil
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend them.
7. Oatmeal Apricot Smoothie
- 4-5 apricots, pitted
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 banana
- 1 cup natural yogurt
- 1/2 cup water
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend them.
8. Roasted Apricot Green Smoothies
- 2 apricots (pitted and quartered)
- 1/2 tablespoons coconut sugar
- 3 cups baby spinach
- 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 pinch of sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
- 1 scoop apples
- 1 cup coconut milk
- ice cube if you want a cold smoothie
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend them.
